Dans (Sverige) - solo template version
@ Skogen, Göteborg

This new solo is the template for a future group piece that will premiere later this year at Dansens hus. The premises of this new work lie in two backward movements: looking back into the prolific dance materials of the 35 pieces I created since I moved to Sweden and looking at the few traces left of Maison de Fous (Dråhuset), a 1920 work by Les Ballets Suédois. While the piece looks into the past and excavates the uncanny kinship between my work and Maison de Fous, it also takes a sharp look at the present, positioning itself against the fetishization of national origins and making use of the figure of the “Fou” as a subversive, irreverent force destabilizing oppressive power structures.

Monday Technosomatics in Malmö

Technosomatics is a unique dance practice that delves into the connection between club dancing to techno music and the body's chakras and endocrine glands. Developed and shared globally by Frédéric Gies since 2014, this practice offers a transformative experience. Each session will be dedicated to a specific focus and theme.

The workshops are always on Mondays, 19.00 – 21.15
Always at Teater Barbro at Ungdomens Hus, Malmö
☼ All workshops are free of charge.
☼ No previous skill or experience required.

Dates: May 4, 11
